Discover beautifully presented soaps and other toiletries reflecting the fragrances popular during the 18th and 19th centuries. Rose, lavender, iris root jasmine and violet were favourite scents during the Victorian period which saw the introduction of milder soaps such as those created by Andrew Pears, a Cornish Barber who moved to London in 1789 first selling his Pears transparent soap in 1809.
